Welcome to the Kester Elementary Special Education page where you can find information and resources to serve the unique needs of persons with disabilities. Our goal is for each person to meet or exceed high standards of achievement in academic and nonacademic skills.

Mission: Provide leadership, guidance, and support to the school community in order to maximize learning for all students within an inclusive environment so that each student will contribute to and benefit from our diverse society.
Positive Behavior Support: The mission of the Division of Special Education Behavior Support Department is to provide positive behavioral supports to the students, staff, and families of the Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD) using a prevention, intervention and postvention model. Community Advisory Committee: The Community Advisory Committee (CAC) advises the Board of Education, Special Education Local Plan Area (SELPA) Director and the Superintendent’s Cabinet on the annual priorities addressed in the SELPA local plan and advocates for effective Special Education programs and services.
